FAQ's
Q. Where's Noosa?
A. On the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia
about 90 minutes drive from Brisbane International
Airport or a 1 hour flight from Sydney.
Q. What's the weather like?
A. Sub-tropical. You can swim all year round especially
at Regatta where the water in the gas heated pool
is just right. At night you sleep in the comfort of
reverse cycle air conditioning.
Q. How do we occupy the kids?
A. If you can get them out of the pool; away from
the surf; stop them fishing; ban bike riding and roller
blading; prohibit sailing, jet skiing and bush walking;
preclude movies, shopping and eating then you might
have to hire a Playstation game or a video.
Q. What can we do?
A. Play golf on your choice of world class courses,
surf, bush walk, chase reef and game fish, go whale
watching, visit Fraser Island, Race Go-carts, see
Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin live, shop in Hastings
Street, spot movie stars on the beach or do absolutely
nothing.
Q. Restaurants?
A. Because Noosa is Australia's premier holiday resort
the many restaurants are as good and as varied as
you get anywhere. Whilst there is something for every
palate the emphasis is on fresh, local seafood. Whilst
most are licensed and boast extensive wine lists,
BYO is usually acceptable. Ask when you book.
Q. Getting around?
A. Car hire companies are well represented but Noosa
is compact and nothing is far from anywhere. Take
a bus, hail a cab or walk. Tour operators take care
of excursions and sight seeing.
Q. Is Noosa expensive?
A. Overall no. Of course it depends on what you buy,
where you stay, how often you eat out and where. Regatta
apartments are fully self-contained and there is a
huge supermarket around the corner. Fast food outlets
abound.
